Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey arrived at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Tuesday to face charges of five counts of rape. The midfielder is also charged with one count of sexual assault, with the alleged incidents occurring between 2021 and 2022.
His lawyer Jenny Wiltshire previously stated that he “denies all the charges against him” and is eager “for the opportunity to finally clear his name.”
Partey appeared at the court wearing a dark zip-up sweater and carrying a suit jacket.
Police reported that the investigation into Partey, now a free agent after his Arsenal contract expired at the end of last season, began in February 2022 following an initial rape report.
The five rape charges involve two different women, while the sexual assault charge pertains to a third woman.
