With its bright orange-red plumage and long, curved bill, the scarlet ibis, originally from South America, has been called the reddest wading bird in the world. Today, nearly a hundred of these aquatic elves live at Chimelong Birds Park in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. Tourists can get up close and personal with the scarlet ibis as they fly, play and forage in the water and on the marshes.
