A diabetic-friendly lunch should be colourful and balanced. Include a lean protein like grilled chicken, paneer, tofu, or legumes. Add half a plate of stir-fried or raw veggies and a small serving of whole grains such as brown rice, quinoa, or millet. Include a dash of healthy fat like olive oil or flaxseed. Avoid large portions of white rice or refined carbs that can cause sugar spikes.

If you’re still slightly hungry after dinner or take insulin that causes drops overnight, opt for a small protein- or fat-rich snack. A tablespoon of peanut butter, a boiled egg, or a few walnuts can prevent nighttime hypoglycemia. Choose low-GI options and avoid anything sweet or high in carbs at this hour.
